Weekly focus: Fitness enthusiast Yannick Somers takes you to his favorite places to workout

Yannick has been passionate about sports and health for as long as he can remember. When he's not in the gym, you'll find him browsing the city for cool hotspots, renovating his home and running his business So Wash. Read along and discover his favorite spaces to get those muscles pumped!

Can you tell a bit more about yourself and what you do (your passions, job)?

I am an influencer and have a window washing business, Sowash. The rest of my time you will find me in the gym, I have been exercising for as long as I remember. I love staying healthy and fit, it’s a lifestyle. In the future, I’m thinking of working as a personal trainer on the side. The house that I’ve just bought will definitely have a home gym, I think it would be nice to give PT classes in my own studio.

Are you already familiar with the concept of 'space sharing'?

No not really, I just learned about it as we speak!

How important is 'space' to you in what you do in your personal and professional life?

Very important. I work out at the gym quite often, purely to relax. But when it is so busy there during peak hours, I would have preferred home gym. I hate waiting! The same goes for my brand partnerships, for content creation I prefer a slightly more exclusive location anyway, away from the crowd.

How can space sharing be useful in your professional life?

Obviously, renting a private home gym now and then would be great. Like I said, I’m renovating my house and renting out my own training studio on the app is definitely an option. I’m really driven by aesthetics and interior design as well. The house I’m renovating is a unique architect house from the seventies, so I’m even considering to occasionally list a part of the house available for photoshoots. I know that brands and stylists are always looking for unique places off the beaten track to shoot their campaigns.

To who would you recommend the app?

I would recommend Cocom especially to brands and agencies for boutique events and photoshoots. Recently I was booked by a fashion brand, where I had to host  a workout during their influencer and press event in the local gym. It was nice but quite challenging in a full gym. It’s nice to know that there are other options too to have more privacy and access to exclusive places, other than the ones we know.
