Can you tell a little more about yourself and what you do?
I'm Vincent Jocquet, CFO at Classified Cycling, venture partner at Birdhouse and co-founder of French Kiss Club.
Are you already familiar with the concept of space sharing? Do you see this as adding value now and in the future?
I am already familiar with the concept, mainly for co-working I know the concept of space sharing. We live in a world where everyone wants to live more flexibly and expects more flexibility, so it's nice to be able to stay in different spaces according to the specific needs you have. Work, leisure, ... that flexibility fits perfectly with a nomadic lifestyle.
Would space sharing be useful in your job?
Space sharing is definitely interesting in my professional life. Sometimes you want to meet physically with certain people, it's nice to be able to do that in different locations.
What type of space could you especially use in the context of your job?
It really depends on the specific need: photo shoot locations, work spaces where you have a lot of space and can sit with nice people. I mainly think about those two.
What criteria does a space need to meet for you?
A space should meet criteria for what you want to use it for, obviously. I think good, representative photos are important, the space should show what it is for. A bit like airbnb: what you see is what you hope to get.
The most beautiful location where you ever worked, partied or spent time?
That is very subjective and also very different. I'm thinking, for example, of a wedding in a foreign location, that was so impressive. But if I may look at my own city as an Antwerp native, I recently went to the city hall for a reception and that place actually turns out to be an incredibly cool building. Imagine turning that into a co-working space. Or to be able to host your guests there.
What type of space would you really want to see on the app and why?
Not an easy question. I think of monuments, refurbished and where a sharing concept could take place in them. For example, the Handelsbeurs, that would be really unique. Or even the KMSMA, that would be really cool to be able to rent a space there.
Would you recommend the app?
I can definitely recommend the app. It's "super light touch," if you need something, you find it and book it like. It's important that people have notion that they can rent spaces. Airbnb is already well known, but for work-related spaces people often end up at well-known office rentals, whereas you could just as easily find a space in someone's garden. It might also be an ideal location. For people looking for something unique, I would definitely recommend Cocom.
Would you rent out spaces yourself through the app?
I haven't thought about it yet, my apartment is just not big enough to rent a part of it, it does have a very nice view though. It is an idea though to rent out part of our company office and free up a shared space for flex desks. We also did that at my previous job with students who got a place to study.
